Secret Santa gift

A Secret Santa gift that's actually about them

You drew a name, there's a budget, and you barely know them. Skip the novelty mug: write a few kind, true lines on a brick on the Wall of Forever, leave it unsigned, and give it as a QR card in an envelope.

The trouble with Secret Santa gifts

Most Secret Santa gifts are bought for the budget, not the person. A mug, a candle, socks with a joke on them — they are in a drawer by February, and nobody remembers who gave what.

A brick is the opposite. It costs from €9, so it fits almost any Secret Santa budget, and it is about the one person whose name you drew: something you noticed about them this year, a thank-you, or the thing the whole office says about them in the nicest way. It sits on an endless wall people visit from their phones, and it stays there.

How to keep it secret

  • Don't sign it. The brick shows only what you wrote, and the wall never shows who placed a brick. If your name isn't in it, it stays a secret.
  • Print the QR card. Once the brick is placed, print its QR card from My Bricks — nothing on it but the code and one line — and put it in an envelope with their name on it.
  • Let them scan it. They see a quiet page first, someone left something for you, and then your words.

Want them to know one day? Sign the next one. For more ways to say something kind without your name on it, see these secret admirer messages.

Secret Santa ideas that work for anyone

  • The thing you noticed

“Thank you for always refilling the coffee before anyone asks.”

  • The year they had

“New job, new city, and you still learned everyone's name.”

  • The office legend

The story everyone tells about them, told kindly.

  • A wish for next year

One line about the year ahead.

  • A photo

The team at the summer party, if they are in it.

  • Just their name

“Merry Christmas, from your Secret Santa.”

The QR card

A card that keeps the secret

Nothing gives you away: no name, no message, only the code and a line like For you or From your Secret Santa. It fits in an envelope, a stocking or the pile of presents under the office tree.

It is the same card as a QR crush note — and the words behind it are kept for good.

From the whole team

Not drawing names this year? One brick from everyone works too: set up to 16 bricks together, run one team photo across them and share the link, and anyone can visit, react with a heart and leave a note. For a colleague's last day, see the retirement gift; for the person who has it all, the gift for someone who has everything.

Your brick

1 brick · €9

Each brick you add is €2, and past 6 just €1 — bigger bricks cost less per brick

Nothing is charged until you have chosen its spot.

Will they know it's from me?

Only if you sign it. The brick shows only what you wrote, and the QR card carries just the code and one line.

How do I give it?

Write and place the brick, then print its QR card from My Bricks and put it in an envelope with their name on it.

Does it fit a Secret Santa budget?

A single brick is €9, paid once. A larger brick costs more, and the price is shown before you pay.

Is it a physical gift?

No. You print the card at home; the brick itself is on the Wall of Forever, an online wall.

Can other people read it?

The wall is public, so anyone could come across the brick. Write something kind you would be glad for the whole office to read.

Can I tell them later that it was me?

Yes, whenever you like. Many people simply sign the next one.
