Personalised new baby gift

A new baby gift they will never outgrow

Babies grow out of everything in weeks. Give them something they won't: their name, the day they arrived and a first photo, on a brick on the Wall of Forever — the first thing in the world that is theirs.

Give them a brick

A new baby gift, without the stuff

New parents are given a mountain of things: blankets, bodysuits, soft toys and personalised baby gifts with names stitched on. Most of them are outgrown before the thank-you cards go out.

A brick is a personalised new baby gift that lasts. Their full name, their date and time of birth, their weight if the parents like that sort of thing, and a photo of that tiny hand. It sits on an endless wall people visit from their phones, with its own link, and it stays there — for when they are five, fifteen and fifty.

A tall brick: a newborn’s foot in a lace blanket, and beneath it “Isla. 11:52 pm, 3.6 kg, Grandad’s ears.”

On the wall

Day one, kept

The details everyone asks about on the first day — the time, the weight, who they look like — are the first things to be forgotten. Put them on the brick.

The parents can send the link to grandparents abroad, and one day show it to the child.

How it works as a gift

Write the brick yourself, or leave it blank so the parents can add their own favourite photo when they have a minute (they won't, for a while). Either way, they get an email a few minutes after you pay, with a private link and a certificate in the baby's name.

There is nothing to post, so it reaches families on the other side of the world on the day you send it.

Ideas for a baby's brick

  • The birth details

Name, date, time and place. The facts they will ask about one day.

  • A welcome

A line from the family: "We waited nine months, and you were worth it."

  • A first photo

Feet, hands, or the first yawn.

  • From the grandparents

A welcome from the people who will spoil them most.

  • The world that day

The weather, the song on the radio, the news.

  • Make it bigger

Up to 16 bricks together, with one photo across them.

A letter for when they are older

Want to write something they can only read when they grow up? A time capsule brick stays sealed until a date you choose — their 18th birthday, for example — up to fifty years away. Sealed bricks cost €8 and can't be sent as a gift, so you place it yourself and give them the link.

For birthdays, weddings and other big days later on, see celebration bricks.

Write their brick

Their name, the day they arrived and a welcome from you. You add who it is for on the next step.

Your brick

1 brick · €5

Nothing is charged until you have chosen its spot.

Is this a physical gift?

No, nothing is posted. It is a brick on the Wall of Forever, an online wall. The parents get it by email with a certificate in the baby's name.

Can the parents add their own photo?

Yes. Leave the brick blank and they add the photo and words themselves, once.

Can grandparents abroad see it?

Yes. Anyone with the link can visit it, react with a heart and leave a note.

Will it still be there when the child grows up?

Yes. The brick keeps its place on the wall indefinitely, paid once.

Can I seal a message until their 18th birthday?

Yes, with a time capsule brick, from €8. It opens on the date you choose. Sealed bricks cannot be sent as gifts.

How much is it?

From €5 for a single brick, paid once.
