Love letter to your girlfriend

A love letter to your girlfriend, in your own words

You don't need to be a poet. A good love letter to your girlfriend is just the truth, written down: what you noticed, what you love, what you want. Here is how to write it — and a place to keep it where it won't end up in a drawer.

How to write a love letter to your girlfriend

Forget the greeting-card voice. She knows how you talk, so write the way you talk, then cut it down. Five steps that work:

  1. Start with a moment. Not "I love you because…", but "The night the power went out and you read to me by torchlight…". A specific memory does more than any adjective.
  2. Say what you notice. The thing she does without thinking — how she hums when she cooks, how she argues with the satnav. It tells her you are paying attention.
  3. Say what changed. What is different about you, or your life, because she is in it.
  4. Look forward. One line about something you want to do together. Small is fine: the trip, the dog, Sunday mornings.
  5. End simply. Her name and yours. You don't need a big finish.

Keep it short. A few honest lines read better than a page of things you think you should say.

Lines to start from

Borrow one and make it yours:

  • I still think about the first time you laughed at one of my jokes. It wasn't even a good one.
  • You make ordinary Tuesdays the best part of my week.
  • I never knew I liked mornings. It turns out I like mornings with you.
  • Thank you for staying on the phone until I fell asleep, all those times.
  • If I could keep one day, I'd keep the one on the beach when it rained and we stayed anyway.
A small cream card with only a QR code and the words “For you”

The QR card

Give it to her as a code

Set your letter on a brick, then print a small card with nothing on it but a QR code and a line like For you. Leave it in her book, her coat pocket or her bag. She scans it, and your words appear.

That is a QR love letter. You can also just send her the link — its preview in a chat gives nothing away.

Why put it on the wall

Paper letters get lost in moves, and messages scroll away. A brick on the Wall of Forever stays where you set it, with its own link, for good. She can come back to it on a bad day, and you can both find it years from now.

Prefer something shorter? Two names and a date make a digital love lock. Not together yet? See tell your secret crush. For short notes to leave around the house, there are love notes for her; writing to your boyfriend instead? Here is a love letter to your boyfriend.

How long should a love letter to my girlfriend be?

Shorter than you think. A few honest lines, built around one real moment, usually say more than a full page.

What if I'm not good with words?

Write the way you speak, then cut it down. Specific memories matter more than beautiful phrasing.

Can she read it on her phone?

Yes. She opens the link or scans the QR card, and the brick opens on any phone or computer.

Can other people see it?

The wall is public, so anyone could come across the brick. Write what you would be glad for others to read, or keep it short and personal.

Can I add a photo?

Yes. Upload a photo and place it on the brick behind your words.

How much is it?

From €5 for a single brick, paid once.

Write it once. Keep it for good.
